Where to Park When Visiting Us We provide meter tokens and free parking validation for city lots to our customers. The Spruce Street parking structure is located directly north of the store. There is a short-term meter lot at Broadway and Spruce. Other lots and structures are located at 1100 Walnut, 1400 Walnut (by the RTD), and 1500 Pearl. There is free street parking in local neighborhoods for two to three hours, depending on the neighborhood. On weekends, parking is unlimited in most neighborhoods, but do check the street signs when you park for possible exceptions. We also encourage alternative transportation modes.

Boulder Book Store Community Giving Program

By participating in the Boulder Book Store Shares program, you can donate 1% of your purchases to local non-profit groups.

This program will create an even stronger partnership between Boulder Book Store and the local non-profit service community and provide book buyers with a way to shop locally and actively support local groups at the same time. To join the Shares program, customers choose a local non-profit organization from a list of participants. The store will then donate to the designated group 1% of every purchase the customer makes.

"We believe that by participating in Boulder Book Store Shares, our customers can improve the quality of life here in Boulder County, " says store owner David Bolduc. "When shopping at locally-owned businesses that give back to the community, consumers are voting with their dollars to keep both our businesses and non-profits healthy and strong."

This program, new to the book community in Colorado, is modeled after highly successful programs at independent book stores in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Pasadena, California.

Groups currently in the program:

  • AHAB (Arts & Humanities Assembly of Boulder County)
  • Boulder County Safehouse
  • Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA)
  • Boulder Museum of History
  • Boulder Public Library Foundation
  • Community Food Share
  • The Counseling Center
  • Dairy Center for the Arts
  • Emergency Family Assistance Association
  • Historic Boulder, Inc.
  • Humane Society of Boulder County
  • Rocky Mountain Peace & Justice Center
  • Women of the West Museum

Additional groups will be added over time.

Boulder Book Store has a strong history of giving back to Boulder County. Local schools received more than $8,500 from book fairs during Fall 98 alone. During its 25 year history the store's donations program has given out thousands of free books and gift certificates to school and non-profit fundraising auctions. The Shares program is one more way Boulder Book Store will continue its tradition of being "Boulder's Community Book Store Since 1973."
